The Issues

Jorge Cornell will represent the community and their issues. This includes, but it not limited to the following:

1.  Expanded opportunities for Youth

  • Aggressive campaign to engage the youth in the political process through mentoring, seminars and grassroots efforts.
  • To organize headquarters on every college campus, and space where youth gather.
  • To initiate more group mentoring with community leaders and the undeserved children in the city.
  • To create platforms for the youth to express themselves through the arts, in order to give them a voice in the community, and world abroad.
  • To push, encourage and support them to become more than dependents, but independents. Independent thinkers, Entrepreneurs and Community Activists.

2. Police and Community

  • To bring more cultural diversity training within the Greensboro Police Department.
  • To create an Alliance between the Police Department & the Black and Brown community which will groom mutual respect, admiration and understanding between the Police Department and the Community they serve.
  • Monthly meetings with Police & Community Activists to create an open dialogue of concerns, issues and solutions.

3. Community initiatives for Economic Development

  • To provide jobs, training and re-entry programs for the undeserved residents of Greensboro.
  • To increase the number of business development and contract awards to minorities.
  • To implement innovative ways and strategies for our Black and Brown community to prosper financially and spiritually.

Developing concrete answers to the challenges Greensboro faces is an ongoing process. We encourage, invite, and in fact need you to tell us what specific change you want to see in Greensboro.  We will be heard!
